Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.02%, while the MDAX index declined 0.23%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 4.65% or 2.780 points to trade at 62.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) added 4.57% or 2.000 points to end at 45.770 and Linde PLC (DE:LINI) was up 2.12% or 3.750 points to 180.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 2.40% or 3.450 points to trade at 140.550 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 1.97% or 0.540 points to end at 26.820 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was down 1.60% or 2.82 points to 173.30.
The top performers on the MDAX were RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which rose 2.12% to 45.260, Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was up 1.40% to settle at 72.200 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which gained 1.14% to close at 7.474.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 3.18% to 34.120 in late trade, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which lost 2.89% to settle at 22.820 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 2.41% to 41.26 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 4.97% to 49.440, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 1.84% to settle at 23.280 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which gained 1.48% to close at 19.84.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 2.69% to 11.200 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 2.39% to settle at 28.130 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.21% to 95.100 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 379 to 296 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.84% or 0.420 to 23.280.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.01% to 14.18.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.31% or 4.65 to $1491.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.78 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $61.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1104, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.8640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.510.
