Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Media and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.01%, while the MDAX index declined 0.10%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which rose 2.70% or 2.95 points to trade at 112.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) added 1.63% or 0.16 points to end at 9.98 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 1.57% or 0.57 points to 36.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 2.58% or 0.46 points to trade at 17.36 at the close. Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) declined 2.21% or 1.06 points to end at 46.84 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was down 1.79% or 1.28 points to 70.24.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 6.00% to 30.19, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 4.27% to settle at 94.16 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 3.91% to close at 34.52.
The worst performers were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was down 3.33% to 50.46 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 1.89% to settle at 54.50 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was down 1.88% to 8.68 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 6.00% to 30.19, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 3.84% to settle at 9.80 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 1.57% to close at 36.63.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 4.08% to 36.69 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 2.15% to settle at 68.35 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 2.04% to 35.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 341 to 309 and 95 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.90% to 14.38.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 4.05 to $1,918.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.12 to trade at $74.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 102.96.
