Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Technology and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 3.88% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index added 2.29%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 9.05% or 14.45 points to trade at 174.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) added 8.63% or 14.77 points to end at 185.93 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 8.15% or 17.60 points to 233.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which fell 0.06% or 0.050 points to trade at 77.230 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 0.46% or 0.24 points to end at 52.94 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG) was up 1.81% or 0.790 points to 44.455.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which rose 9.31% to 164.40, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was up 7.50% to settle at 7.03 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which gained 7.33% to close at 68.36.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 2.99% to 46.63 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 1.30% to settle at 317.800 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 0.98% to 70.400 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 6.25% to 37.740, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 5.76% to settle at 20.832 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 5.24% to close at 9.645.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 2.99% to 46.63 in late trade, RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which lost 1.70% to settle at 24.220 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 1.30% to 317.800 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 535 to 153 and 50 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.95% to 32.13.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.76% or 30.45 to $1703.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.22% or 0.08 to hit $36.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.16 to trade at $39.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.60% to 1.1236, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.8923.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 97.263.
