Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 3.76%, while the MDAX index gained 3.34%, and the TecDAX index climbed 4.28%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which rose 12.16% or 4.32 points to trade at 39.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 9.96% or 3.79 points to end at 41.84 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 8.28% or 2.34 points to 30.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE (DE:EONGn), which fell 0.76% or 0.08 points to trade at 10.76 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 0.64% or 0.24 points to end at 37.05 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 0.58% or 1.40 points to 240.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which rose 11.30% to 24.08, AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was up 10.31% to settle at 10.61 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which gained 9.31% to close at 149.05.
The worst performers were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was down 2.95% to 23.99 in late trade, Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which lost 2.13% to settle at 19.33 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was down 1.20% to 148.75 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which rose 9.31% to 149.05, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 8.28% to settle at 30.59 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 8.12% to close at 390.10.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 0.51% to 2.51 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 0.27% to settle at 29.90 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 0.04% to 24.11 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 601 to 109 and 48 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 12.30% to 35.94.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.06% or 20.45 to $1,909.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.54% or 0.52 to hit $95.92 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.94 to trade at $98.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 99.00.
