Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 3.39%, while the MDAX index gained 2.45%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.58%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which rose 6.53% or 2.980 points to trade at 48.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) added 5.72% or 3.73 points to end at 68.95 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 4.10% or 3.34 points to 84.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which rose 0.01% or 0.01 points to trade at 136.48 at the close. Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 0.39% or 0.385 points to end at 98.755 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 0.61% or 0.54 points to 88.58.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which rose 5.34% to 79.85, Deutsche Pfandbriefbank AG (DE:PBBG) which was up 5.33% to settle at 7.21 and Brenntag AG (DE:BNRGn) which gained 5.08% to close at 47.190.
The worst performers were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 4.18% to 58.74 in late trade, Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which gained 0.33% to settle at 18.18 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 0.46% to 38.405 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which rose 4.98% to 90.650, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 4.68% to settle at 9.625 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 4.39% to close at 45.37.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 1.18% to 25.040 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 0.25% to settle at 9.586 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was up 0.39% to 98.755 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 580 to 110 and 48 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.47% to 38.66.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.53% or 9.20 to $1736.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.51% or 0.93 to hit $38.05 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.57% or 1.02 to trade at $40.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1261, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8952.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 97.000.
