Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 3.36% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index gained 1.64%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 7.37% or 6.75 points to trade at 98.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) added 7.28% or 2.700 points to end at 39.785 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was up 6.94% or 0.710 points to 10.945 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 2.45% or 0.765 points to trade at 30.460 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 0.41% or 0.410 points to end at 99.230 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was down 0.33% or 0.18 points to 54.84.
The top performers on the MDAX were Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which rose 12.16% to 80.87, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was up 11.36% to settle at 30.400 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 11.13% to close at 4.415.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 5.72% to 43.52 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 4.55% to settle at 301.800 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 4.24% to 43.73 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 8.62% to 40.125, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 5.43% to settle at 10.290 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which gained 5.18% to close at 21.755.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 5.72% to 43.52 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 4.55% to settle at 301.800 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 4.24% to 43.73 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 523 to 157 and 59 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.43% to 30.56.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.54% or 43.90 to $1683.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 5.08% or 1.90 to hit $39.31 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 5.45% or 2.18 to trade at $42.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1289, while EUR/GBP fell 1.00% to 0.8909.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 96.963.
