Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Basic Resources and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 2.89% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 2.58%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 11.64% or 0.744 points to trade at 7.135 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 10.46% or 12.05 points to end at 127.30 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 8.89% or 6.59 points to 80.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 9.93% or 9.810 points to trade at 88.985 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 3.70% or 2.35 points to end at 61.18 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 0.20% or 0.09 points to 44.39.
The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which rose 12.68% to 21.500, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was up 10.40% to settle at 58.50 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 9.44% to close at 34.78.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 3.66% to 39.83 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which lost 2.12% to settle at 71.450 and LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was down 2.04% to 104.800 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 7.87% to 20.28, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 5.76% to settle at 17.440 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 4.96% to close at 19.050.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 9.93% to 88.985 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 3.66% to settle at 39.83 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 2.12% to 71.450 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 537 to 150 and 52 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.19% to 34.28 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.56% or 9.60 to $1712.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 27.80% or 3.43 to hit $15.77 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 6.82% or 1.55 to trade at $24.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.0856, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8727.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 99.775.
