Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Insurance and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 2.71%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.83%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.71%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which rose 4.81% or 6.04 points to trade at 131.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) added 3.95% or 1.485 points to end at 39.035 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 3.85% or 2.18 points to 58.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 5.45% or 8.00 points to trade at 138.85 at the close. Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 0.03% or 0.001 points to end at 1.935 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 0.48% or 0.40 points to 84.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which rose 12.19% to 17.490, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 12.01% to settle at 106.300 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which gained 5.94% to close at 23.540.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 8.95% to 40.02 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which lost 3.43% to settle at 4.933 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was down 3.40% to 32.380 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 21.94% to 10.700, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 12.01% to settle at 106.300 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 3.37% to close at 64.500.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 8.95% to 40.02 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which lost 3.06% to settle at 43.720 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 0.64% to 112.825 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 517 to 165 and 66 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.42% to 27.48.
Gold Futures for October delivery was up 0.05% or 1.00 to $1974.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.04% or 0.82 to hit $41.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.72% or 0.75 to trade at $44.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1752, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8997.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 93.580.
