Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Retail and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.51%, while the MDAX index gained 3.06%, and the TecDAX index added 3.12%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 10.33% or 11.65 points to trade at 124.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 6.87% or 1.081 points to end at 16.823 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 6.82% or 3.00 points to 46.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 3.24% or 2.980 points to trade at 89.040 at the close. Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) declined 2.43% or 2.160 points to end at 86.550 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was down 0.20% or 0.38 points to 193.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which rose 8.07% to 21.630, Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was up 7.91% to settle at 15.010 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 7.82% to close at 29.630.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 4.22% to 22.920 in late trade, Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which lost 0.11% to settle at 18.75 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was up 0.35% to 72.350 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 8.05% to 9.286, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was up 7.82% to settle at 29.630 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 7.76% to close at 78.640.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 2.43% to 86.550 in late trade, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which lost 0.23% to settle at 219.00 and RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 0.07% to 28.880 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 551 to 124 and 63 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.81% to 36.75.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.23% or 3.90 to $1709.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 19.57% or 3.99 to hit $24.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 12.46% or 3.39 to trade at $30.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0840, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8718.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 99.860.
