Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 2.22%, while the MDAX index added 2.19%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG), which rose 5.53% or 5.98 points to trade at 114.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 5.34% or 2.720 points to end at 53.640 and Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) was up 4.70% or 0.87 points to 19.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 1.33% or 1.220 points to trade at 90.820 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 0.42% or 0.650 points to end at 155.050 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was down 0.23% or 0.18 points to 77.54.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 5.84% to 7.067, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was up 5.84% to settle at 17.490 and AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which gained 4.93% to close at 14.89.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which was down 0.68% to 411.600 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 0.39% to settle at 28.27 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 0.17% to 23.620 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which rose 8.53% to 28.00, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 6.88% to settle at 13.360 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 5.68% to close at 32.000.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.64% to 113.950 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 0.39% to settle at 28.27 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 0.17% to 23.620 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 604 to 103 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.64% or 1.900 to 113.950.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.74% to 27.03.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.23% or 22.75 to $1829.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.88% or 1.61 to hit $87.21 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 1.47 to trade at $88.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1292, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8353.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 96.045.
