Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Technology and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 2.17%, while the MDAX index climbed 2.09%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.65%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG), which rose 5.90% or 11.43 points to trade at 205.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) added 5.25% or 3.80 points to end at 76.14 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) was up 5.18% or 4.05 points to 82.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which fell 6.22% or 3.85 points to trade at 58.04 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 1.11% or 0.36 points to end at 32.17 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) was up 0.09% or 0.06 points to 63.30.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 11.22% to 7.83, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 7.01% to settle at 101.30 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 6.28% to close at 113.40.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 10.63% to 21.45 in late trade, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which lost 3.68% to settle at 47.16 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was down 2.77% to 21.74 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 6.28% to 113.40, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.93% to settle at 24.48 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 4.32% to close at 43.50.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 10.63% to 21.45 in late trade, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which lost 4.93% to settle at 45.16 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 0.58% to 24.18 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 493 to 199 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.77% or 0.62 to 21.74.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 10.08% to 30.50.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.63% or 11.61 to $1,852.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 6.54% or 6.52 to hit $106.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 5.56% or 5.70 to trade at $108.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 103.87.
