Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Retail and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.85%, while the MDAX index gained 0.64%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 4.45% or 0.485 points to trade at 11.385 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) added 4.31% or 3.260 points to end at 78.860 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 4.25% or 3.84 points to 94.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p), which fell 0.39% or 2.000 points to trade at 511.400 at the close. Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) added 0.04% or 0.020 points to end at 52.980 and E.ON SE (DE:EONGn) was up 0.04% or 0.004 points to 11.038.
The top performers on the MDAX were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which rose 7.86% to 119.400, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 3.72% to settle at 6.191 and Befesa SA (DE:BFSA) which gained 3.63% to close at 62.80.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 7.03% to 16.60 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 3.76% to settle at 38.380 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was down 3.03% to 54.400 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which rose 7.86% to 119.400, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 5.93% to settle at 36.780 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 2.75% to close at 13.460.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 7.03% to 16.60 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 3.76% to settle at 38.380 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was down 3.03% to 54.400 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 530 to 165 and 72 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 12.96% to 21.16.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.95 to $1759.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.34% or 1.04 to hit $78.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.34% or 1.09 to trade at $82.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1557, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8479.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.157.
