Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Industrials and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.64%, while the MDAX index gained 2.01%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which rose 6.04% or 11.90 points to trade at 208.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) added 4.58% or 2.29 points to end at 52.34 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was up 3.56% or 1.455 points to 42.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 0.76% or 0.275 points to trade at 35.695 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 0.29% or 0.35 points to end at 118.43 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was up 0.07% or 0.010 points to 15.010.
The top performers on the MDAX were Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which rose 5.05% to 100.70, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was up 4.27% to settle at 54.370 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which gained 4.22% to close at 34.100.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.84% to 18.255 in late trade, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which lost 1.75% to settle at 73.050 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 1.13% to 70.300 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 4.69% to 23.20, Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was up 4.20% to settle at 18.293 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which gained 4.14% to close at 23.120.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 2.84% to 18.255 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which lost 1.13% to settle at 70.300 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 0.76% to 35.695 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 583 to 121 and 52 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 13.06% to 23.30.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.57% or 9.80 to $1719.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.26% or 1.39 to hit $60.11 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 1.13 to trade at $63.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.2033, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8653.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.148.
