Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.43%, while the MDAX index added 2.34%, and the TecDAX index climbed 2.49%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 6.75% or 4.450 points to trade at 70.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) added 5.53% or 2.29 points to end at 43.70 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was up 5.72% or 5.64 points to 104.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which fell 1.26% or 0.670 points to trade at 52.320 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) declined 0.40% or 0.53 points to end at 131.38 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 0.52% or 0.48 points to 92.44.
The top performers on the MDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 7.70% to 97.590, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was up 6.62% to settle at 49.90 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 6.54% to close at 391.200.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 4.93% to 5.670 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 3.02% to settle at 2.247 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 2.61% to 4.262 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 7.70% to 97.590, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 6.54% to settle at 391.200 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 5.72% to close at 24.570.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 3.02% to 2.247 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 2.53% to settle at 12.700 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 0.86% to 9.623 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 425 to 220 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.72% or 5.64 to 104.20.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 14.31% to 29.95.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.55% or 10.45 to $1899.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.18% or 0.82 to hit $38.48 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.34% or 0.93 to trade at $40.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1700, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.9019.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.00% at 93.558.
