Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.36%, while the MDAX index added 1.63%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n), which rose 4.92% or 1.08 points to trade at 23.03 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 4.31% or 8.45 points to end at 204.55 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 4.01% or 0.405 points to 10.505 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which fell 2.66% or 3.230 points to trade at 118.100 at the close. Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) declined 0.50% or 0.260 points to end at 51.400 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 0.23% or 0.38 points to 167.62.
The top performers on the MDAX were Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which rose 9.04% to 18.580, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 5.05% to settle at 143.500 and Shop Apotheke Europe NV (DE:SAEG) which gained 4.52% to close at 129.400.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 3.56% to 469.300 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 0.73% to settle at 39.310 and Brenntag AG (DE:BNRGn) which was up 0.02% to 82.300 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which rose 5.05% to 143.500, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 4.91% to settle at 28.620 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 4.49% to close at 172.30.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 3.56% to 469.300 in late trade, LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which lost 3.35% to settle at 20.800 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which was down 2.66% to 118.100 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 554 to 139 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.04% or 1.540 to 18.580.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 10.77% to 20.22.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.35% or 6.35 to $1805.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.79% or 3.22 to hit $70.42 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 4.22% or 2.93 to trade at $72.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1792, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8612.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.808.
