Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.35%, while the MDAX index gained 0.99%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which rose 3.10% or 2.120 points to trade at 70.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING) added 2.54% or 4.15 points to end at 167.65 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 2.35% or 2.50 points to 108.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which fell 0.19% or 0.020 points to trade at 10.745 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 0.15% or 0.020 points to end at 13.740 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 0.28% or 0.10 points to 35.41.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which rose 3.81% to 73.790, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was up 2.57% to settle at 98.570 and Schaeffler AG Pref (DE:SHA_p) which gained 2.51% to close at 11.64.
The worst performers were Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was down 0.25% to 34.540 in late trade, Talanx AG NA O.N. (DE:TLXGn) which lost 0.21% to settle at 35.580 and Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which was down 0.12% to 12.420 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which rose 5.41% to 7.447, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was up 3.50% to settle at 89.950 and Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which gained 3.27% to close at 9.370.
The worst performers were Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was down 0.62% to 30.22 in late trade, S&T AG (F:SANT1) which lost 0.47% to settle at 16.870 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was up 0.09% to 16.270 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 569 to 189 and 31 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.70% to 15.61.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.78 to $1292.92 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.65% or 0.31 to hit $47.84 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.25 to trade at $51.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1767, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.9168.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 93.36.
