Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.35%, while the MDAX index gained 0.94%, and the TecDAX index added 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn), which rose 6.56% or 5.50 points to trade at 89.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 6.28% or 2.610 points to end at 44.180 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 5.17% or 3.88 points to 78.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 3.23% or 4.15 points to trade at 124.20 at the close. Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) declined 1.68% or 3.26 points to end at 191.12 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was down 1.04% or 0.082 points to 7.778.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which rose 9.23% to 9.7060, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was up 6.94% to settle at 53.000 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which gained 6.07% to close at 37.940.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 2.37% to 76.050 in late trade, Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which lost 1.49% to settle at 139.00 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 1.43% to 5.660 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 6.94% to 53.000, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was up 5.46% to settle at 2.742 and Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which gained 4.22% to close at 148.300.
The worst performers were Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 2.37% to 76.050 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 1.40% to settle at 22.52 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 1.39% to 42.66 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 461 to 210 and 64 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.74% to 32.37 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.57% or 9.80 to $1716.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.57% or 0.37 to hit $23.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.68% or 0.79 to trade at $30.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0846, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 99.715.
