Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Software and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.30%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.88%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.86%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which rose 2.81% or 3.000 points to trade at 109.860 at the close. Meanwhile, Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) added 2.59% or 3.650 points to end at 144.650 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was up 2.18% or 1.90 points to 89.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which fell 0.79% or 0.480 points to trade at 60.040 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) declined 0.56% or 0.084 points to end at 14.880 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 0.32% or 0.026 points to 8.184.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 9.92% to 9.620, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 6.08% to settle at 19.540 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 4.73% to close at 49.560.
The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 0.51% to 4.930 in late trade, Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which lost 0.38% to settle at 14.2900 and Axel Springer SE (DE:SPRGn) which was unchanged 0.00% to 63.050 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 6.08% to 19.540, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 4.73% to settle at 49.560 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which gained 3.64% to close at 28.750.
The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 2.11% to 278.00 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 0.76% to settle at 41.760 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 0.71% to 21.000 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 478 to 191 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.32% or 0.026 to 8.184. Shares in Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.71% or 0.150 to 21.000.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.21% to 17.35.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.15 to $1515.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $56.17 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.59 to trade at $60.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.00% to 1.1099, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.9141.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 98.053.
