Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.18%, while the MDAX index added 1.14%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which rose 3.38% or 0.360 points to trade at 11.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 3.29% or 1.300 points to end at 40.830 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 2.92% or 0.438 points to 15.414 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which fell 1.78% or 0.78 points to trade at 42.97 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 0.19% or 0.050 points to end at 25.770 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 0.28% or 0.75 points to 266.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 4.72% to 10.750, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was up 3.48% to settle at 23.180 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 3.27% to close at 58.060.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 1.13% to 7.346 in late trade, Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which lost 0.95% to settle at 19.79 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 0.84% to 105.700 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 7.58% to 18.45, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 3.80% to settle at 21.850 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 3.27% to close at 58.060.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 0.84% to 105.700 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which lost 0.68% to settle at 51.400 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 0.47% to 42.180 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 502 to 180 and 73 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.34% to 18.02.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 13.40 to $1535.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.27% or 0.71 to hit $56.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.33 to trade at $60.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1047, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.9069.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 98.468.
