Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Technology and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.15%, while the MDAX index gained 0.45%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which rose 5.46% or 2.560 points to trade at 49.440 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 4.15% or 6.10 points to end at 153.10 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 3.90% or 0.845 points to 22.495 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 5.85% or 0.145 points to trade at 2.335 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) declined 0.85% or 0.074 points to end at 8.648 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was down 0.48% or 0.360 points to 74.390.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which rose 4.69% to 4.554, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was up 3.71% to settle at 36.34 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which gained 3.57% to close at 6.504.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 4.55% to 51.18 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 3.98% to settle at 95.14 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 2.84% to 308.000 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which rose 3.90% to 22.495, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 3.03% to settle at 39.755 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which gained 1.75% to close at 24.46.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 5.85% to 2.335 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 4.55% to settle at 51.18 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was down 2.84% to 308.000 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 432 to 225 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) rose to all time highs; up 3.03% or 1.170 to 39.755.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.81% to 31.09.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.25% or 4.55 to $1799.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.39% or 0.55 to hit $40.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.54 to trade at $42.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1300, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8950.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.620.
