Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Technology and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 11.49%, while the MDAX index added 7.14%, and the TecDAX index added 7.53%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which rose 24.41% or 5.615 points to trade at 28.620 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 19.39% or 17.89 points to end at 110.14 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 19.11% or 29.50 points to 183.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 0.25% or 0.140 points to trade at 56.380 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) added 4.76% or 0.545 points to end at 12.000 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was up 5.22% or 4.43 points to 89.31.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which rose 24.87% to 4.870, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was up 24.60% to settle at 37.380 and Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which gained 18.50% to close at 57.00.
The worst performers were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) which was up 0.12% to 83.040 in late trade, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which gained 1.20% to settle at 55.80 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was up 1.57% to 58.180 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 33.30% to 7.545, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 18.14% to settle at 60.440 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 17.12% to close at 43.240.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was up 1.50% to 28.400 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which gained 2.12% to settle at 25.530 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 2.29% to 14.720 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 650 to 70 and 25 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 16.42% to 53.94.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 5.73% or 89.80 to $1657.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.13% or 0.03 to hit $23.39 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.70% or 0.19 to trade at $26.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.0760, while EUR/GBP fell 1.10% to 0.9179.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.95% at 102.260.
