Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.04%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.61%, and the TecDAX index added 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 2.47% or 2.26 points to trade at 93.84 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 2.29% or 4.05 points to end at 181.00 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p) was up 2.10% or 1.740 points to 84.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG), which fell 1.01% or 2.30 points to trade at 225.20 at the close. HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) declined 0.90% or 0.62 points to end at 68.42 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was down 0.87% or 0.86 points to 98.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which rose 2.95% to 9.502, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was up 2.88% to settle at 40.660 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which gained 2.84% to close at 114.000.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was down 1.71% to 83.350 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which lost 1.47% to settle at 24.130 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 0.97% to 61.060 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) which rose 6.27% to 195.00, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 2.84% to settle at 114.000 and Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which gained 2.63% to close at 39.00.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.52% to 33.690 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 0.79% to settle at 578.800 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 0.61% to 48.790 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 524 to 186 and 66 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) rose to all time highs; up 6.27% or 11.50 to 195.00.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 28.96% to 17.22 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.41% or 7.45 to $1809.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.07% or 0.78 to hit $73.54 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.89 to trade at $76.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8449.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.000.
