Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Technology and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.98% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 0.08%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 3.64% or 0.82 points to trade at 23.32 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 2.51% or 0.83 points to end at 33.84 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 2.41% or 2.36 points to 100.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which fell 5.82% or 4.22 points to trade at 68.35 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) declined 3.76% or 10.30 points to end at 263.30 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 2.90% or 0.73 points to 24.43.
The top performers on the MDAX were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which rose 4.73% to 52.49, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was up 2.58% to settle at 35.84 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which gained 1.97% to close at 70.05.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 6.31% to 23.74 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 3.76% to settle at 24.54 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 2.44% to 5.85 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 2.30% to 36.89, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 1.79% to settle at 14.24 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 1.73% to close at 281.80.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 6.31% to 23.74 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 3.79% to settle at 73.70 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 2.24% to 27.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 325 to 244 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.44% or 0.15 to 5.85. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.79% or 0.25 to 14.24.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.64 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.66% or 15.40 to $2,337.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.24% or 0.19 to hit $79.18 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.14 to trade at $83.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 105.23.
