Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.96% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.73%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 4.53% or 6.550 points to trade at 151.050 at the close. Meanwhile, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) added 3.48% or 0.370 points to end at 10.995 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 3.30% or 3.58 points to 111.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which fell 0.61% or 0.27 points to trade at 44.25 at the close. Linde PLC (DE:LINI) declined 0.32% or 0.550 points to end at 169.950 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was up 0.03% or 0.004 points to 15.196.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which rose 5.71% to 45.00, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was up 5.51% to settle at 11.195 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which gained 3.39% to close at 40.250.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 1.50% to 44.79 in late trade, Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) which lost 1.40% to settle at 31.670 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 0.95% to 2.292 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Isra Vision O.N. (DE:ISRG) which rose 12.97% to 36.76, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was up 5.18% to settle at 6.400 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 4.53% to close at 151.050.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 1.13% to 52.350 in late trade, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which lost 1.08% to settle at 14.72 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 0.95% to 2.292 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 469 to 205 and 79 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.10% to 16.88 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 3.15 to $1559.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 4.73% or 2.55 to hit $56.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 4.51% or 2.63 to trade at $60.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.9031.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 98.425.
