Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Insurance and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.95%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.13%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn), which rose 2.91% or 11.70 points to trade at 414.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 2.65% or 0.63 points to end at 24.44 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 2.50% or 0.79 points to 32.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn), which fell 3.47% or 1.38 points to trade at 38.42 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 2.29% or 0.76 points to end at 32.38 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was down 0.95% or 0.39 points to 40.57.
The top performers on the MDAX were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which rose 3.44% to 44.46, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was up 3.14% to settle at 69.05 and Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which gained 2.81% to close at 71.25.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.75% to 13.49 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 1.59% to settle at 9.60 and Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which was down 1.53% to 61.10 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 5.71% to 47.20, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was up 2.76% to settle at 39.42 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.50% to close at 32.22.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 1.75% to 13.49 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 1.66% to settle at 19.00 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 1.59% to 9.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 404 to 210 and 36 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.84% to 13.64 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.14% or 26.30 to $2,334.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.64% or 0.50 to hit $78.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.47 to trade at $83.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 104.90.
