Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Industrials and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.95%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.80%, and the TecDAX index added 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 7.37% or 6.80 points to trade at 99.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) added 3.99% or 4.26 points to end at 111.00 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) was up 2.88% or 1.82 points to 64.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 0.93% or 0.330 points to trade at 34.970 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.36% or 0.17 points to end at 47.63 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was down 0.28% or 0.400 points to 144.050.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which rose 3.42% to 504.500, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was up 2.89% to settle at 69.500 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which gained 2.88% to close at 110.850.
The worst performers were K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was down 4.02% to 14.815 in late trade, Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which lost 2.09% to settle at 31.39 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 1.93% to 2.444 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 7.61% to 14.85, Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) which was up 4.86% to settle at 183.50 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 3.57% to close at 34.560.
The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (DE:VTWRn) which was down 2.09% to 31.39 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 1.93% to settle at 2.444 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which was up 0.13% to 15.944 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 501 to 199 and 75 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 22.77% to 18.72.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.65% or 11.55 to $1800.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.48% or 1.05 to hit $72.17 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.79 to trade at $74.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1328, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 96.108.
