Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Food & Beverages and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.93% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.55%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which rose 6.59% or 0.660 points to trade at 10.670 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 3.95% or 0.500 points to end at 13.155 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was up 3.11% or 3.400 points to 112.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN), which fell 0.92% or 0.750 points to trade at 80.800 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 0.35% or 0.300 points to end at 86.130 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was down 0.03% or 0.005 points to 17.000.
The top performers on the MDAX were Elringklinger AG NA O.N. (DE:ZILGn) which rose 5.75% to 21.535, Leoni AG NA O.N. (DE:LEOGn) which was up 3.69% to settle at 38.500 and Salzgitter AG O.N. (DE:SZGG) which gained 3.54% to close at 27.185.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (DE:TUIGn) which was down 1.69% to 16.615 in late trade, Kloeckner & Co SE NA (DE:KCOGn) which lost 1.62% to settle at 7.980 and Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 0.47% to 57.430 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 4.80% to 41.135, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was up 4.73% to settle at 6.064 and Kontron AG O.N. (DE:KBCG) which gained 4.00% to close at 3.224.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 2.09% to 26.240 in late trade, Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which lost 1.70% to settle at 176.550 and PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (DE:PSAGn) which was down 0.86% to 12.700 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 439 to 250 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.80% or 1.885 to 41.135.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.13% to 19.75.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.56% or 6.40 to $1135.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.73% or 0.34 to hit $46.25 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.58 to trade at $48.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1020, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.7144.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 96.93.
