Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.92% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.58%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.14%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (DE:BMWG), which rose 3.50% or 3.250 points to trade at 96.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) added 3.26% or 0.440 points to end at 13.950 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was up 2.56% or 0.465 points to 18.640 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (DE:HNKG_p), which fell 2.12% or 2.110 points to trade at 97.310 at the close. Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) declined 1.54% or 0.770 points to end at 49.340 and Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN) was down 1.35% or 1.200 points to 88.010.

The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG NA O.N. (DE:LEOGn) which rose 6.84% to 38.605, Elringklinger AG NA O.N. (DE:ZILGn) which was up 5.20% to settle at 22.040 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which gained 3.81% to close at 62.450.

The worst performers were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (DE:SZUG) which was down 1.97% to 17.455 in late trade, Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (DE:DWNG) which lost 1.82% to settle at 24.545 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 0.96% to 44.22 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 5.54% to 57.170, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 5.02% to settle at 43.265 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 4.13% to close at 108.350.

The worst performers were Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 1.09% to 176.550 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 0.89% to settle at 68.150 and QSC AG NA O.N. (DE:QSCG) which was down 0.58% to 1.725 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 438 to 250 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 3.81% or 2.290 to 62.450.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.14% to 20.15.

Gold for December delivery was down 1.44% or 15.90 to $1088.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.50% or 0.68 to hit $44.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.42 to trade at $47.55 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 1.36% to 1.0736, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7132.

The US Dollar Index was up 1.24% at 99.31.
