Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.88%, while the MDAX index gained 0.79%, and the TecDAX index added 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which rose 3.82% or 2.100 points to trade at 57.060 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 3.47% or 5.25 points to end at 156.75 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) was up 3.46% or 1.920 points to 57.380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 3.27% or 3.22 points to trade at 95.30 at the close. Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) declined 0.40% or 0.195 points to end at 48.955 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was down 0.30% or 0.125 points to 41.060.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 7.05% to 64.550, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was up 6.14% to settle at 8.190 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which gained 3.76% to close at 23.190.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 3.75% to 39.02 in late trade, Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which lost 3.13% to settle at 696.50 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 2.37% to 45.24 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which rose 7.05% to 64.550, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was up 4.65% to settle at 19.12 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 4.41% to close at 20.480.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 2.84% to 71.800 in late trade, LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which lost 1.88% to settle at 20.850 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 1.40% to 112.900 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 447 to 218 and 82 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.03% to 25.25.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 3.40 to $1887.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.38% or 1.35 to hit $41.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.38% or 1.42 to trade at $43.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1753, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.9084.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 93.660.
