Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Resources and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.47%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which rose 6.55% or 0.720 points to trade at 11.715 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) added 5.89% or 0.945 points to end at 16.985 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 4.79% or 0.323 points to 7.065 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 2.36% or 0.640 points to trade at 26.470 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 2.12% or 0.94 points to end at 43.31 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was down 1.63% or 1.900 points to 114.450.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 7.87% to 65.480, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 5.53% to settle at 30.530 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which gained 4.87% to close at 11.740.
The worst performers were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which was down 2.92% to 246.00 in late trade, Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which lost 2.74% to settle at 51.550 and Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was down 1.96% to 67.650 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 7.87% to 65.480, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 7.76% to settle at 23.600 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which gained 5.89% to close at 16.985.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 1.75% to 106.400 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 1.35% to settle at 35.41 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 1.15% to 30.930 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 471 to 197 and 85 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.23% to 15.66 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.19% or 34.25 to $1526.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.17% or 0.66 to hit $56.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.22% or 0.74 to trade at $61.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1041, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8961.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 98.333.
