Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer & Cyclical and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.84% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index gained 0.28%, and the TecDAX index added 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn), which rose 2.71% or 0.24 points to trade at 9.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) added 2.65% or 1.56 points to end at 60.47 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) was up 2.60% or 0.74 points to 29.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DPWGn), which fell 2.72% or 1.13 points to trade at 40.62 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 0.62% or 0.33 points to end at 52.95 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was down 0.33% or 0.12 points to 36.79.
The top performers on the MDAX were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which rose 5.34% to 7.30, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was up 4.15% to settle at 37.17 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 3.20% to close at 72.24.
The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 3.16% to 21.15 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which lost 2.90% to settle at 7.03 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.03% to 24.09 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which rose 4.61% to 43.60, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 3.20% to settle at 72.24 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 1.91% to close at 421.60.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 2.53% to 23.15 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 2.03% to settle at 24.09 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 1.80% to 120.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 477 to 225 and 66 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.22% to 23.83.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.76% or 13.65 to $1,804.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.20% or 1.07 to hit $90.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 1.09 to trade at $96.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 106.17.
