Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.83%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.40%, and the TecDAX index added 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 4.70% or 5.15 points to trade at 114.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 3.18% or 1.560 points to end at 50.540 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 2.60% or 6.05 points to 238.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 0.25% or 0.022 points to trade at 8.795 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 0.10% or 0.20 points to end at 206.00 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was down 0.07% or 0.08 points to 112.79.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 6.66% to 84.52, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was up 4.52% to settle at 13.4050 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which gained 3.00% to close at 30.220.
The worst performers were Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which was down 2.68% to 84.70 in late trade, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which lost 2.58% to settle at 37.00 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 2.54% to 40.45 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which rose 3.52% to 264.50, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was up 2.82% to settle at 39.80 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which gained 2.63% to close at 23.450.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 2.54% to 40.45 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 2.34% to settle at 62.700 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.49% to 125.950 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 405 to 278 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Covestro AG (DE:1COV) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.18% or 1.560 to 50.540.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.38% to 24.59.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.77% or 14.25 to $1829.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.28% or 0.13 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.14 to trade at $49.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.2154, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.9110.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 90.608.
