Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.83% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.63%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 6.16% or 0.995 points to trade at 17.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) added 4.89% or 5.30 points to end at 113.66 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 4.15% or 0.770 points to 19.310 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which fell 4.47% or 3.040 points to trade at 65.000 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 3.71% or 1.000 points to end at 25.920 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was down 2.04% or 0.320 points to 15.356.
The top performers on the MDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 6.81% to 44.170, Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which was up 3.97% to settle at 63.340 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which gained 3.82% to close at 40.000.
The worst performers were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was down 3.02% to 13.6250 in late trade, Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which lost 2.78% to settle at 90.37 and Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which was down 2.74% to 53.250 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 7.41% to 44.0900, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 4.15% to settle at 19.310 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which gained 3.77% to close at 56.450.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 11.99% to 26.560 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 2.32% to settle at 20.18 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which was down 2.04% to 15.356 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 428 to 250 and 80 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.89% or 5.30 to 113.66. Shares in Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.97% or 2.420 to 63.340.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.58% to 13.61.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.82% or 27.15 to $1465.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.40% or 1.35 to hit $57.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 0.96 to trade at $62.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1042, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8616.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 98.030.
