Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Retail and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.81%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.69%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 6.30% or 0.57 points to trade at 9.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 3.92% or 5.80 points to end at 153.85 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) was up 3.53% or 2.38 points to 69.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which fell 2.33% or 4.80 points to trade at 201.60 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) declined 1.96% or 2.56 points to end at 127.82 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was down 0.94% or 3.50 points to 370.50.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (ETR:SAXG) which rose 10.88% to 50.45, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was up 7.23% to settle at 29.94 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which gained 5.38% to close at 114.50.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.56% to 27.12 in late trade, Talanx AG NA O.N. (ETR:TLXGn) which lost 1.41% to settle at 59.25 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 1.07% to 60.15 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which rose 12.30% to 33.79, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was up 10.17% to settle at 27.08 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 4.17% to close at 18.25.
The worst performers were Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 9.68% to 68.10 in late trade, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which lost 4.19% to settle at 4.80 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.56% to 27.12 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 417 to 212 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) fell to all time lows; falling 4.19% or 0.21 to 4.80.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.82% to 15.07 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.46% or 9.05 to $1,966.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.93% or 0.70 to hit $76.03 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.80 to trade at $80.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 105.39.
