Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Consumer & Cyclical and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.81%, while the MDAX index gained 0.44%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which rose 2.72% or 3.750 points to trade at 141.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (DE:LINI) added 2.08% or 3.900 points to end at 191.500 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was up 2.02% or 5.10 points to 257.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG), which fell 1.41% or 0.920 points to trade at 64.340 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 0.83% or 0.170 points to end at 20.430 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 0.76% or 0.054 points to 7.066.
The top performers on the MDAX were Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which rose 3.22% to 69.00, Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which was up 2.25% to settle at 14.3150 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which gained 2.02% to close at 257.70.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was down 2.79% to 55.060 in late trade, Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which lost 1.15% to settle at 61.74 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 1.10% to 2.600 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 2.48% to 21.52, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was up 1.78% to settle at 54.450 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which gained 1.15% to close at 120.940.
The worst performers were Isra Vision O.N. (DE:ISRG) which was down 3.27% to 37.90 in late trade, Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which lost 2.24% to settle at 4.106 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 2.20% to 12.430 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 403 to 268 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Linde PLC (DE:LINI) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.08% or 3.900 to 191.500.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.10% to 12.16 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.20% or 2.95 to $1481.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.50% or 0.92 to hit $60.26 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.56 to trade at $65.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1071, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.8500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 97.305.
