Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Construction and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.76%, while the MDAX index gained 0.33%, and the TecDAX index added 1.19%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 4.96% or 0.995 points to trade at 21.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.47% or 0.249 points to end at 7.434 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was up 2.49% or 1.580 points to 65.160 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which fell 0.72% or 0.068 points to trade at 9.400 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) declined 0.32% or 0.56 points to end at 176.06 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was down 0.24% or 0.250 points to 105.750.

The top performers on the MDAX were Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which rose 2.84% to 46.280, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 2.53% to settle at 22.700 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which gained 2.27% to close at 30.140.

The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which was down 3.21% to 66.400 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 2.22% to settle at 66.00 and Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was down 1.22% to 44.55 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which rose 4.96% to 21.040, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 4.33% to settle at 8.816 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which gained 2.84% to close at 46.280.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 1.03% to 11.520 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 1.01% to settle at 117.600 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 0.13% to 29.800 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 463 to 212 and 74 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.76% to 15.05.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 4.25 to $1573.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.09% or 0.69 to hit $62.58 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.83 to trade at $68.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1145, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8486.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 96.692.
