Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.75%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.57%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 6.57% or 3.680 points to trade at 59.680 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 2.92% or 0.314 points to end at 11.074 and Siemens Energy AG (DE:ENR1n) was up 2.72% or 0.49 points to 18.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 2.92% or 2.00 points to trade at 66.58 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 2.78% or 4.450 points to end at 155.700 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) was down 1.32% or 0.70 points to 52.30.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which rose 4.27% to 7.423, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 2.67% to settle at 91.380 and Befesa SA (DE:BFSA) which gained 2.61% to close at 62.80.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 5.10% to 2.437 in late trade, Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which lost 2.92% to settle at 52.620 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 2.41% to 79.52 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which rose 9.93% to 16.50, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 2.67% to settle at 91.380 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which gained 2.38% to close at 23.660.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 5.10% to 2.437 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which lost 2.24% to settle at 115.850 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 1.65% to 56.700 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 516 to 201 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.92% or 2.00 to 66.58. Shares in HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.32% or 0.70 to 52.30. Shares in Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.92% or 1.580 to 52.620. Shares in Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.24% or 2.650 to 115.850. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.65% or 0.950 to 56.700.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.73% to 29.62.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.53% or 9.85 to $1851.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.27% or 1.89 to hit $85.20 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.78% or 1.52 to trade at $86.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1292, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8363.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 96.030.
