Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Chemicals and Basic Resources sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.75%, while the MDAX index gained 0.52%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 3.25% or 0.450 points to trade at 14.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 2.97% or 1.290 points to end at 44.790 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) was up 2.50% or 1.550 points to 63.540 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which fell 1.87% or 0.316 points to trade at 16.606 at the close. E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) declined 0.58% or 0.052 points to end at 8.953 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 0.47% or 0.56 points to 117.50.
The top performers on the MDAX were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which rose 5.35% to 40.77, Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was up 5.17% to settle at 27.870 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which gained 4.05% to close at 23.360.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 2.65% to 67.850 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which lost 2.58% to settle at 10.950 and GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was down 2.39% to 25.270 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which rose 4.13% to 14.12, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was up 3.17% to settle at 28.600 and Isra Vision O.N. (DE:ISRG) which gained 3.01% to close at 38.34.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 3.01% to 41.240 in late trade, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which lost 1.87% to settle at 16.606 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 1.35% to 256.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 418 to 260 and 81 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.96% to 16.08.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.53% or 8.05 to $1507.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.31% or 0.74 to hit $55.67 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.01% or 1.26 to trade at $61.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0943, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8891.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 98.743.
