Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Basic Resources and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.74%, while the MDAX index gained 0.07%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn), which rose 3.07% or 0.435 points to trade at 14.595 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (XETRA:DTEGn) added 2.10% or 0.350 points to end at 17.005 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) was up 2.08% or 0.495 points to 24.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (XETRA:MUVGn), which fell 4.74% or 9.050 points to trade at 181.850 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) declined 4.04% or 0.955 points to end at 22.690 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (XETRA:ALVG) was down 2.25% or 3.600 points to 156.050.
The top performers on the MDAX were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which rose 4.52% to 12.600, Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) which was up 3.50% to settle at 58.480 and Kloeckner & Co SE NA (XETRA:KCOGn) which gained 2.90% to close at 8.800.
The worst performers were Duerr AG O.N. (XETRA:DUEG) which was down 4.21% to 96.130 in late trade, Hannover Rueckversicherung SE (XETRA:HNRGn) which lost 2.16% to settle at 95.460 and A.Springer AG VNA (XETRA:SPRGn) which was down 1.37% to 51.660 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Xing AG (XETRA:OBCGn) which rose 3.64% to 159.500, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (XETRA:DRWG_p) which was up 3.25% to settle at 120.900 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which gained 2.34% to close at 84.240.
The worst performers were Kontron AG O.N. (XETRA:KBCG) which was down 6.39% to 4.906 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which lost 2.99% to settle at 13.630 and Stratec Biomedical (XETRA:SBSG) which was down 2.33% to 46.250 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 426 to 315 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) rose to all time highs; up 3.50% or 1.980 to 58.480.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.94 a new 3-months high.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.52% or 18.10 to $1176.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.94% or 0.54 to hit $57.20 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.28 to trade at $65.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.42% to 1.0869, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.7163.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 97.11.
