Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Transportation & Logistics and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.74%, while the MDAX index gained 0.33%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 4.68% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.345 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 2.64% or 0.209 points to end at 8.127 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 2.20% or 5.15 points to 239.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 4.82% or 1.655 points to trade at 32.685 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.48% or 3.95 points to end at 262.85 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 0.67% or 0.61 points to 90.88.
The top performers on the MDAX were RTL Group SA (DE:RRTL) which rose 4.76% to 28.600, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which was up 4.51% to settle at 9.7400 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which gained 3.71% to close at 122.900.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was down 2.34% to 22.550 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which lost 2.10% to settle at 100.10 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 1.81% to 4.927 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 4.68% to 1.345, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 3.71% to settle at 122.900 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 2.66% to close at 22.760.
The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 1.72% to 43.45 in late trade, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which lost 1.32% to settle at 164.30 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 1.25% to 10.838 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 423 to 231 and 94 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.41% to 23.40 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.24% or 45.15 to $1967.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $43.11 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.05 to trade at $45.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1872, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.9026.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 92.752.
