Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Media and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.71%, while the MDAX index gained 0.73%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.56%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which rose 5.84% or 3.24 points to trade at 58.74 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) added 2.12% or 2.200 points to end at 106.200 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was up 1.63% or 0.258 points to 16.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which fell 3.04% or 0.277 points to trade at 8.824 at the close. Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) declined 2.26% or 3.400 points to end at 147.250 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 2.04% or 0.137 points to 6.586.
The top performers on the MDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 4.81% to 109.0000, Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which was up 4.04% to settle at 50.720 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which gained 2.73% to close at 45.940.
The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 6.43% to 5.341 in late trade, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which lost 1.82% to settle at 75.40 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 1.22% to 11.365 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 4.81% to 109.000, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 2.46% to settle at 95.650 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 2.13% to close at 24.420.
The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 5.42% to 18.330 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 3.64% to settle at 45.480 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was down 3.47% to 116.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 321 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.43% or 0.367 to 5.341. Shares in Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.22% or 0.140 to 11.365.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.05% to 21.59.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.21% or 32.75 to $1516.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 4.61% or 2.47 to hit $51.16 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 4.33% or 2.55 to trade at $56.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1227, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.9238.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 97.255.
