Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Insurance and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.67%, while the MDAX index gained 0.55%, and the TecDAX index added 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 1.80% or 0.495 points to trade at 28.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) added 1.79% or 0.865 points to end at 49.125 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 1.57% or 0.92 points to 59.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 2.08% or 3.25 points to trade at 153.00 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 0.96% or 0.45 points to end at 46.30 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 0.76% or 0.76 points to 99.64.
The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which rose 4.32% to 120.800, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 3.83% to settle at 86.780 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which gained 3.34% to close at 80.42.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 5.28% to 37.34 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 4.61% to settle at 37.900 and Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 3.72% to 67.350 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which rose 4.32% to 120.800, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 3.83% to settle at 86.780 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 3.57% to close at 24.920.
The worst performers were Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 4.61% to 37.900 in late trade, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which lost 2.67% to settle at 255.50 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 0.30% to 13.460 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 432 to 247 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) rose to all time highs; up 1.80% or 0.495 to 28.030. Shares in Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 3.34% or 2.60 to 80.42.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.30% to 23.54.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 3.75 to $1929.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.30% or 1.34 to hit $39.26 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.01% or 1.29 to trade at $41.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1810, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.9040.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.082.
