Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Insurance and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.66%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.64%, and the TecDAX index added 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 2.65% or 1.440 points to trade at 55.860 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 1.47% or 3.18 points to end at 220.00 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) was up 1.40% or 0.630 points to 45.630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 2.19% or 0.255 points to trade at 11.390 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 0.94% or 0.51 points to end at 53.47 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was down 0.57% or 1.20 points to 208.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which rose 3.33% to 57.070, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was up 2.56% to settle at 11.027 and Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which gained 2.46% to close at 73.300.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 4.41% to 23.000 in late trade, GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which lost 2.34% to settle at 35.815 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 1.55% to 43.740 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which rose 1.98% to 48.42, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 1.79% to settle at 35.250 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which gained 1.48% to close at 52.120.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 4.41% to 23.000 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 1.94% to settle at 46.580 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 1.18% to 40.045 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 441 to 252 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.33% or 1.840 to 57.070.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.02% to 20.57.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.45% or 25.55 to $1793.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.24% or 0.79 to hit $64.37 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.77 to trade at $67.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.2056, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8670.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 91.000.
