Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer & Cyclical and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.62%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.73%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 2.97% or 0.400 points to trade at 13.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) added 2.42% or 2.10 points to end at 88.76 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 2.25% or 0.570 points to 25.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 1.75% or 2.300 points to trade at 128.950 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 0.61% or 0.094 points to end at 15.220 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was down 0.41% or 0.90 points to 217.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which rose 3.70% to 67.200, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 3.47% to settle at 179.000 and Grand City Properties SA (DE:GYC) which gained 2.57% to close at 19.96.
The worst performers were Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was down 2.33% to 27.720 in late trade, Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which lost 0.95% to settle at 52.000 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 0.90% to 44.03 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 3.47% to 179.000, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was up 3.09% to settle at 51.700 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which gained 2.95% to close at 52.400.
The worst performers were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which was down 3.10% to 5.930 in late trade, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which lost 1.71% to settle at 12.64 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 0.82% to 24.320 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 447 to 238 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.25% or 0.570 to 25.900.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.96% to 19.62.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.03% or 15.85 to $1553.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.73% or 0.39 to hit $54.03 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $58.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1092, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.9024.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 97.907.
