Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.61%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.87%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.33% or 0.58 points to trade at 25.43 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 2.30% or 0.80 points to end at 35.64 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 2.02% or 4.60 points to 232.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which fell 1.67% or 1.10 points to trade at 64.88 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) declined 1.00% or 0.16 points to end at 15.39 and BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) was down 0.98% or 0.47 points to 47.94.
The top performers on the MDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which rose 5.32% to 22.98, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 4.79% to settle at 87.55 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 4.48% to close at 29.16.
The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was down 1.90% to 99.96 in late trade, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which lost 1.61% to settle at 76.40 and GEA Group AG (ETR:G1AG) which was down 1.52% to 37.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which rose 5.32% to 22.98, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 4.79% to settle at 87.55 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 4.39% to close at 9.03.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 1.20% to 47.60 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 1.16% to settle at 27.38 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 1.10% to 54.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 390 to 239 and 32 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.83% to 13.79.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.76% or 17.85 to $2,363.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.39% or 2.61 to hit $74.38 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.22% or 2.61 to trade at $78.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 104.10.
