Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Utilities and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.56% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index gained 1.56%, and the TecDAX index added 2.99%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG), which rose 5.20% or 2.150 points to trade at 43.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 4.37% or 2.42 points to end at 57.80 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 4.28% or 1.400 points to 34.075 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 3.71% or 7.50 points to trade at 194.50 at the close. Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) declined 3.51% or 8.55 points to end at 234.85 and BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) was down 2.04% or 1.175 points to 56.375.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 11.77% to 168.100, Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was up 6.70% to settle at 81.54 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 5.11% to close at 39.06.
The worst performers were Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 6.61% to 45.160 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 3.66% to settle at 4.760 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 3.37% to 9.226 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 11.77% to 168.100, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 11.21% to settle at 17.260 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 5.78% to close at 23.800.
The worst performers were Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was down 1.32% to 16.785 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which unchanged 0.00% to settle at 121.500 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was up 0.04% to 2.303 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 449 to 218 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 11.21% or 1.740 to 17.260.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.97% to 24.96.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.68% or 12.75 to $1863.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.30% or 0.95 to hit $42.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.09% or 0.91 to trade at $44.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1759, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 93.127.
