Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Software and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.55%, while the MDAX index added 0.42%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG), which rose 3.56% or 1.450 points to trade at 42.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) added 2.87% or 3.825 points to end at 137.325 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 2.65% or 7.35 points to 284.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 2.52% or 2.530 points to trade at 97.850 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 2.24% or 4.60 points to end at 200.70 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 1.83% or 2.40 points to 128.57.
The top performers on the MDAX were Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which rose 12.24% to 37.310, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 3.28% to settle at 92.88 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which gained 2.52% to close at 44.80.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 5.13% to 38.08 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which lost 3.37% to settle at 4.907 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 2.93% to 44.320 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which rose 12.24% to 37.310, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 2.12% to settle at 241.00 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which gained 2.01% to close at 100.550.
The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 2.93% to 44.320 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which lost 2.13% to settle at 24.760 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was down 1.29% to 160.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 394 to 269 and 30 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.25% to 22.90 a new 6-months low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 4.95 to $1880.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.06% or 0.44 to hit $42.09 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 0.69 to trade at $44.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1867, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8922.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 92.263.
