Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Consumer & Cyclical and Retail sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.54% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.55%, and the TecDAX index added 0.56%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG), which rose 4.67% or 0.545 points to trade at 12.225 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 1.49% or 4.10 points to end at 278.90 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 1.30% or 0.800 points to 62.240 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG), which fell 0.39% or 0.450 points to trade at 114.000 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) declined 0.29% or 0.44 points to end at 150.40 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 0.27% or 0.046 points to 16.928.

The top performers on the MDAX were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which rose 11.21% to 28.560, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 7.44% to settle at 32.800 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which gained 4.17% to close at 19.740.

The worst performers were Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was down 2.06% to 28.480 in late trade, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which lost 1.61% to settle at 43.520 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which was down 1.39% to 7.100 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which rose 11.21% to 28.560, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 7.44% to settle at 32.800 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 2.36% to close at 20.190.

The worst performers were SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which was down 4.77% to 14.76 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which lost 2.70% to settle at 20.880 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 1.91% to 23.150 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 369 to 300 and 87 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.79% to 14.91 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 5.15 to $1520.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.64% or 0.36 to hit $56.66 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.60 to trade at $61.55 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1027, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8981.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 98.385.
