Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Retail and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.53%, while the MDAX index gained 1.65%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.46%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which rose 5.92% or 1.47 points to trade at 26.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 3.72% or 0.90 points to end at 25.25 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) was up 3.65% or 1.98 points to 56.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 5.10% or 8.66 points to trade at 161.06 at the close. Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) declined 4.11% or 2.74 points to end at 64.00 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was down 2.98% or 2.06 points to 67.02.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 4.47% to 9.95, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 3.99% to settle at 73.00 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 3.83% to close at 45.05.
The worst performers were Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was down 2.33% to 27.64 in late trade, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 1.43% to settle at 20.01 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was down 1.16% to 43.27 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 7.04% to 51.10, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was up 4.58% to settle at 22.85 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 4.47% to close at 9.95.
The worst performers were Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which was down 2.33% to 27.64 in late trade, SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which lost 0.41% to settle at 88.85 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was unchanged 0.00% to 2.63 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 421 to 249 and 65 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.04% or 3.36 to 51.10.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.54% to 26.05.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 2.30 to $1,720.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.07% or 1.97 to hit $96.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.51% or 1.50 to trade at $100.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 107.11.
