Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Financial Services and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.53%, while the MDAX index added 0.99%, and the TecDAX index added 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which rose 5.19% or 6.550 points to trade at 132.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) added 2.55% or 1.50 points to end at 60.25 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was up 2.35% or 6.80 points to 296.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn), which fell 4.03% or 3.99 points to trade at 95.00 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) declined 2.68% or 1.760 points to end at 63.860 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was down 0.62% or 0.78 points to 124.46.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 13.32% to 47.23, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was up 5.90% to settle at 109.500 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which gained 4.59% to close at 45.58.
The worst performers were Evonik Industries AG (DE:EVKn) which was down 5.05% to 24.650 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which lost 4.55% to settle at 54.560 and Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was down 3.02% to 31.460 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 6.37% to 20.880, SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was up 3.47% to settle at 22.680 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which gained 3.23% to close at 10.5500.
The worst performers were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was down 1.39% to 34.000 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which lost 1.03% to settle at 27.020 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 0.75% to 10.580 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 395 to 279 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) rose to 5-year highs; up 5.19% or 6.550 to 132.850. Shares in Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) rose to all time highs; rising 2.35% or 6.80 to 296.35.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.65% to 14.52.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.57% or 8.25 to $1429.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.57% or 2.09 to hit $56.49 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.86% or 1.86 to trade at $63.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1070, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.9120.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.297.
